Late May 2012 – property searching on the Sunshine Coast

Early June 2012 – fell in love (unexpectedly – we were searching for a pre-existing home) with a block of land

15 June 2012 – put in an offer on the land

19 June 2012 - the search began for the perfect house plan

20 Jul 2012 – offer accepted and Contracts signed

25 Jul 2012 – deposit paid to Developer

6 Aug 2012 – decided to change builders from GJ Gardiner to Plantation Homes

23 Aug 2012 – finance for the land approved

31 Aug 2012 – special condition met by Developer, Contract now unconditional

13 Sep 2012 – settlement of land

13 Sep 2012 – soil test received

28 Sep 2012 – deposit paid to Plantation Homes

26 Oct 2012 – tree in question on soil test report removed from adjacent land

9 Nov 2012 – colour and fixers consultation with Porchlight Interiors

16 Nov 2012 – New Home Proposal meeting

28 Nov 2012 – first stage documents sent for Building Covenant approval

4 Dec 2012 – Construction Contract signed

11 Dec 2012 – further deposit paid to Plantation Homes

17 Dec 2012 – pre-lodgement to Certifiers

17 Dec 2012 – electrical appointment with Your Home Consulting (YHC)

17 Dec 2012 – colour selection appointment with Cosham Interiors

20 Dec 2012 – re-financed to get a better interest rate

21 Dec 2012 – full building approval received by Council

7 Jan 2013 – signed and sent back our colour selections

11 Jan 2013 – finance for construction loan approved

11 Jan 2013 – second stage documents sent for Building Covenant approval

15 Jan 2013 – signed new finance documents

22 Jan 2013 - post contract variations (PCV) signed

24 Jan 2013 - final drawings emailed to us for review

25 Jan 2013 - finalised electrical plans with YHC

29 Jan 2013 - consent forms signed & sent to FKP for Covenant Approval

31 Jan 2013 - final drawings emailed to us and 'Okayed'. Hard copies will be sent in the mail for signing and returning to Plantation Homes

31 Jan 2013 - file moved to final stage today to start preparing for our Supervisor

4 February 2013 - final drawings signed and returned to Plantation Homes

5 Feb 2013 - building covenant approval received from the ARC

13 Feb 2013 – 5% deposit paid to Plantation Homes

13 Feb 2013 – allocation process is complete, our file has been given to a Supervisor to organise the Site works to commence.

21 Feb 2013 - Supervisor to call with a commencement date - being TODAY! wooo

21 Feb 2013 - Site works commenced

Looking forward:

Feb 2013 - retaining walls must be installed when Site is cut
